Use and control

  • Rezilon herbicide’s prescription weed control program is tailored to your fields' unique needs, allowing you to stay ahead of unexpected changes and meet new challenges like herbicide resistance.

  • For year-round annual grass control, make one application of 3 oz/A in the late winter and another 3 oz/A in the late summer.

  • Apply Rezilon herbicide at 3-5 fl oz/A in late winter (January-February) to control summer annual weeds.

  • Apply 3-5 fl oz/A following a late summer (August-September) cutting for winter annual weed control.

  • Do not exceed 6 fl oz/A of Rezilon herbicide in a 12-month period with sequential applications.

  • When Rezilon herbicide is applied at a rate greater than 3 fl oz/A, hay may not be harvested until 40 days after application.

  • There are no grazing restrictions following the application of Rezilon herbicide.

  • Factors including soil type, rainfall, the amount of vegetation surface debris and the time of treatment may affect weed control.

  • If the herbicide is not activated by rainfall prior to germination, control will be reduced.

  • Rezilon herbicide is a preemergent herbicide that requires an activating rainfall or irrigation (0.25-0.5”) to be effective. Additionally, it will only provide effective control in areas covered by the target rate. Annual weed escapes will occur if coverage is uneven or if a lower effective rate is applied between spray swaths.

Maximize success with a preemergent herbicide

in season weed control
Early is “on time”

Preemergent herbicides such as Rezilon herbicide are not meant to control emerged weeds as the active ingredient is a root inhibitor and works to prevent seedling germination in the top 1/2” to 1” of the soil. Applications of Rezilon herbicide should be made before the target weed begins to germinate in order to prevent in-season weed seed germination.

Tank-mix to target winter weeds

Weather does not always cooperate and can create delays in herbicide application plans. When delays occur, target weeds may already be germinating, or even emerged, at the time of herbicide application. In these situations, you can increase your herbicide program success by incorporating tank-mix partners like Pastora® herbicide to target emerged weeds.

Tank-mix partners
  1. Glyphosate (4 lbs) at 8-10 fl oz/A

  2. Pastora herbicide at 1-1.5 oz/A

  3. Cimarron® Plus herbicide at 0.5 oz/A or higher

  4. Plateau® herbicide (imazapic) at 6-8 fl oz/A

  5. Gramoxone® (paraquat) at 1-2 pts/A (this is a restricted use pesticide)

NOTE: The options above may not work if the user has species that are resistant to the particular mode of action. Glyphosate, Pastora herbicide and Plateau herbicide may cause yellowing and stunting to bermudagrass

Tank mixtures: The applicable labeling for each product must be in the possession of the user at the time of application. Follow applicable use instructions, including application rates, precautions and restrictions of each product used in the tank mixture. Not all tank mix product formulations have been tested for compatibility or performance other than specifically listed by brand name. Always predetermine the compatibility of tank mixtures by mixing small proportional quantities in advance.

*4-6 months of anticipated control per application.

Always read and follow label use directions, restrictions, and application and stewardship requirements. See the product label for the full list of weeds controlled.

ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW PESTICIDE LABEL DIRECTIONS. Not all products are registered in all states and may be subject to use restrictions. The distribution, sale, or use of an unregistered pesticide is a violation of federal and/or state law and is strictly prohibited.
