FAQs
Can I see dead mosquitoes in my In2Care Station?
No. The biological fungus kills mosquitoes over several days, and infected mosquitoes leave the station before dying. This is why you won’t see dead mosquitoes inside the unit.
Why do I see live larvae in my In2Care Station?
This is normal. The larvicide kills larvae only when they pupate, and dead pupae are often eaten by other larvae. Live larvae actually help attract more egg laying females
Does the station work on other mosquito species?
Yes. While designed for Aedes aegypti, the station also attracts and impacts Culex mosquitoes and other species that prefer small container habitats. Only Aedes mosquitoes spread the larvicide to additional sites.
How often should I refill the water?
Refill water every 4–6 weeks during routine service. In dry periods, add water more frequently by pouring it directly on top of the station.
Does heavy rain reduce the station’s effectiveness?
No. The larvicide works at extremely low concentrations (less than 0.001 mg per liter). Even heavy rain does not dilute it below effective levels.
Why am I still getting mosquito bites?
The station targets egg laying mosquitoes, not those seeking a blood meal. Population reduction becomes noticeable after 3–4 weeks once the larvicide spreads through local breeding sites.
Why is a new mosquito control tool needed for dengue and chikungunya?
Dengue and chikungunya continue to spread globally, with no specific drugs or vaccines available. Aedes mosquitoes breed in countless small containers and have developed resistance to many insecticides. Tools like the In2Care Mosquito Station provide a modern, effective solution.

What Is an In2Care Mosquito Station? How It Works
The In2Care Mosquito Station is an innovative mosquito control system that turns mosquitoes into part of the solution. Using two powerful active ingredients, the station targets both adult mosquitoes and larvae, delivering continuous, area wide control that reaches places traditional treatments can’t.
Adult female mosquitoes are attracted to the station, land on the floater gauze, and become contaminated with a slow acting biological fungus and a highly effective larvicide. The fungus kills the mosquito within a few days and can block dengue virus replication, while the larvicide is carried on the mosquito’s legs to surrounding breeding sites. Because Aedes mosquitoes are skip ovipositors, they naturally spread the larvicide to multiple water sources, killing larvae wherever they lay eggs.
The result: targeted, environmentally responsible mosquito control that reduces Aedes and Culex mosquito populations without disturbing yards, pets, or pollinators.
How the In2Care Mosquito Station Attracts Mosquitoes
The station uses a combination of black color, strategic design, standing water, and a proprietary organic odor lure to attract egg laying female mosquitoes. It is especially appealing to Aedes mosquitoes, which prefer artificial containers, but it also attracts Culex species that use similar breeding sites.
How Long Do In2Care Mosquito Stations Last?
The In2Care Mosquito Station is built from durable, recycled polypropylene (PP) and is engineered to last for several years, even in tropical climates. To maintain peak performance:
- Replace the floater gauze every 4–6 weeks using In2Mix® refill sachets
- Deploy approximately 10 stations per acre in high risk areas with many Aedes or Culex breeding sites
- Ensure stations remain filled with water and placed in shaded, vegetated areas
This setup provides consistent, long term mosquito reduction around homes and properties.
